    ABOUT ME

I am Susan Vink, a 33-year-old mother of three, originally from the Netherlands. My curiosity about the human mind and my passion for helping others led me to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Mental Health and a master’s degree in Work and Organizational Psychology at Maastricht University. But after finishing my studies I just couldn’t see myself working within the Dutch mental health care system as it’s currently structured. So, I decided to take a different path and became a business consultant, where I helped companies and individuals navigate various organizational challenges.

After the birth of our first son, I felt it was time to return to what I truly love: helping people on a more personal level. I established my own practice as a coach and occupational psychologist, focusing on enhancing individuals’ soft skills and guiding them through career-related challenges. While I enjoyed this work immensely, I couldn’t shake the feeling that there was something more I wanted for my family and myself.

In 2023, my family and I moved to Spain, filled with excitement to embrace a new culture, gain fresh perspectives, and grow through new experiences. But as we settled into our new life, I quickly realized that the challenges of starting over in a foreign country were more complex than I had imagined. Connecting with other expats, I found that many were struggling with similar feelings: overwhelm, loneliness, and uncertainty. Through these conversations, it became clear to me that emotional well-being is often overlooked, yet it’s crucial for creating a fulfilling life abroad. This inspired me to use my skills, knowledge, and personal experience to support others on this journey. And so, with the goal of helping expats turn their dream of living abroad into a successful and enriching reality, Steady Mind Coaching was born.

     My style

    Empathy meets Dutch directness

My clients often describe my style as both empathetic and direct. They appreciate my ability to listen deeply and understand their concerns, while also valuing the honest, straightforward feedback I provide when needed. I’m known for creating a safe, supportive space where clients feel comfortable expressing themselves, but I’m also not afraid to challenge them to grow and make real progress. This balance of compassion and candidness is at the heart of my approach.

By asking thoughtful questions I will help you to reflect and guide you to uncover your own answers. I believe in challenging you to think critically and push your boundaries, but I’m always mindful of your limits, ensuring that you feel safe and supported throughout the process. In our sessions, I will make sure you feel heard, respected, and never judged as you share your thoughts and emotions.
